Her Empathy

Couple evenings ago, while feeding L'il Man he got a little excited and lunged forward and ended up with an eyeful of oatmeal cereal. Mimi winced with him in discomfort, she moved in close to his face and stroked his cheek gently and with the voice of utter concern she asked "you ok?" Her brows were creased and she looked as though she were on the verge of tears herself!

Last night driving home from church, L'il Man had finished his bottle but wasn't quite satisfied yet and add the mix a little tiredness. So if you follow through that equation, you get the result = a crying baby!! But as I listened carefully, I heard a small pity filled voice beneath the crying saying "Oooooh, Isie...oooooh Isie" I looked back and it was Mimi again, with her face filled with sorrow as she looked out the back window. She looked as though she was fighting back tears, she looked at me and said "Mommy give Isie milk?" I explained that he had already finished his bottle and there was no more milk left. What she said afterwards surprised me...she waited a couple of minutes and then replied "Mommy, Isie wants your breast, Isie wants milk from your breast!"

I looked at my husband, and I asked him if he heard what she had just said, he confirmed that he did and that I wasn't just hearing things...LOL!! Needless to say, L'il Man eventually fell asleep and when the crying had finally ceased she burst out of no where and said "Isie all better now? No want milk anymore!"

What a gal....*sigh*
